About Megan
Megan has a passion for the therapeutic process and has a special talent in listening for themes, patterns, emotions and dynamics that keep people stuck in life. Megan’s favorite part of therapy is watching people find their spark, return to who they are and what they value. She believes you have the resources within yourself and helps fuel those with expert tools, emotional support and non-judgmental curiosity.
Megan graduated with her master’s degree in 2011 and has been working in the mental health field for several years. She has a passion for supporting those with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, trauma and/or negative body image concerns.
In Her Own Words
Hello, I’m Megan Tarmann, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota. I have a passion for working with people and always have been drawn to the resilience of humanity.
When I was a little girl, I was a natural observer. I would often find myself sitting back and watching dynamics play out and wondered if others noticed the patterns and processes unfolding. I knew from a young age that I wanted to do something special. Being a therapist is a gift and I am forever grateful I followed my own wisdom. I have a knack for seeing patterns, picking up on emotions and themes in people’s lives and also keep up with current, evidenced-based treatment to help you wherever you are in your journey. I am genuine, collaborative, down to earth and transparent as we work together towards your goals.
I completed my undergraduate degree from the University of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received my BS in Social Work in 2007. A year after graduating, I made my way over to Portland State University in Oregon where I received my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2011.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and pets. I love traveling, reading a good book with a cup of coffee and laughing with friends and family.
